Information, Letters, and Pictures of Jacob while on his mission to Des Moines, Iowa

This week was a really good week. Last Monday we got a call from some missionaries. There was a lady who was in another room during one of their lessons and after the lesson she came out and said that she wanted she had been praying for guidance and she wanted to know more. That weekend she moved to our town. We called here to setup a time to go and ended up teaching here and her boy friend a few minutes later. They are an amazing couple, really sincere. A family emergency took them out of town this week end but they will be coming to church next week end.
We also finally set a baptismal date with a lady who missionaries have been teaching for a few years. She told us from day one that she would never give up her coffee. Well on Tuesday we decided it was finally time to teach her the word of wisdom. The spirit was strong and we were able to describe it is a way that made sense to her and now we have her coffee maker in the trunk of our car, and she has a baptismal date for next month.
There are a few other people that we are teaching but no one that I would really call progressing. But the lord is hastening his work. In a few weeks we are getting the first group of the missionaries that qualified for the age change. Our numbers are going to exponentially increase. I am excited for this change. The lord needs more laborers. There is a lot of work to do and not enough willing hearts.
The weather is cold and we have been walking a lot. Many people are choosing not to listen to us but the spirit is still strong and lives are being changed. The lord’s hand is in this work. I am excited for the upcoming weeks and the work that the lord has ready for me to do. I love you all. I thank you for your faith and for your prayers.
