We had a really good week this week. The lord continues to bless us here and I am excited that I have the chance to be a part of this great work. 3 kids that we have been teaching where baptized and confirmed. It was nice to watch them take that next step in their lives. We had a lot of people at the baptism and it went really well. This area is still flourishing. We have a lot of people to teach and many that we hope to start teaching soon. I am excited for the chance I have to watch them progress in the gospel and come closer to Christ as they begin to put their lives in closer harmony with his teachings.
We had to stop teaching a few people because they were not progressing. One of them was an African American lady who is convinced the bible was stolen from old African stories and Europeanized. She also believed a lot of stuff she read online that I will not get into but I will say that it was …. Ya, it just was not good. We will still check up on her from time to time but we will just have to see what happens.
So one day there was a set of missionaries that where at the church and they realized that they left something home. So they drove home to get it but when they got there it came to their attention that they left their keys back at the church, unfortunately they needed to save their miles so one missionary told the other that the door to the second floor balcony was probably unlocked and that he might be able to climb up it and get in. the second skinnier missionary thought that this was a brilliant idea so when they got to their apartment complex he began to climb. As he was climbing he saw that the land lord was on his way down. Not wanting to make a bad impression he quickly tried to climb faster. This missionary was able to make it to the top and over the railing before the land lord saw, mainly because he had practiced back home in Colorado, though he did knock a wasp nest in the process.  After grabbing the forgotten items he realized that the door could only be locked form outside so he would have to climb back down. Somehow he managed to do all of this without breaking his neck and they made it back to the church in safety.
As you can tell not much happened this week. J I love all of you. Thank you for your prayers and faith. This area is continuing to be blessed greatly from god. The work is still difficult at times but the lord comforts us and carries us at those points that we cant. Just to all of you know it is ok to email me if you don’t want to write. I will not be able to email back but I will write you back and mail it. My email is jrgibson@myldsmail.net . I love all of you and I expect to hear from you soon.
